How Much Food Should a Prepper Have in Their Doomsday Supplies?

Prepping for a survival situation isn't an exact science. The reasons for person to start prepping for an emergency situation range from natural disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes and floods to things like solar flares, volcanic eruption or even pandemic disease situations. So with that said there is not just an exact formula for how much of a food supply you should have in your emergency survival stockpile.

Before you try and come up with an amount first you need to choose what sort of situation you are prepping for. If you are prepping for a situation where you might be without power for a amount of days then a 72 hour survival kit would probably be fine. If you think that a solar flare may take out the power grid, or an Emp that did the same thing then you'd probably want to go with at least a 1 month food supply or longer.

After you are done reading this go into your kitchen and assess the amount of food you would have if there was no electricity. Your freezer and fridge won't count. You'll have what's in a pantry or cabinets. Now think what items would need to be cooked to be useful. Although you could have something to cook on in a situation with no electricity, most population don't.

Now that you have done that, how long do you think that amount of food would last your family? Things like canned foods, packaged foods that could be ready to eat and other staples would be about all you would have left. For most population that's not much really.

Now that you have assessed what you would have left you need to think about what you will need. Would dehydrated or freeze dried food be ideal? Or would having extra rice or pasta and items such as that be what you need? There are also items such as survival food bars that can get you through many situations.

All of these thoughts weigh into what survival preparations you make before you are in a situation and it's too late. As a normal rule of thumb I would advise that you have at least a 30 day supply of food on hand. For most situations that's longer than the outage would be so you should be okay. If hyper inflation drove gas prices up there might be a shortage of food but ultimately it would work out more than likely. A one month food supply can be bough for around to 0 dollars. It's a small price to pay for having the safety of knowing your family will be safe from most disasters.

You can also purchase 3 month, 6 month or 12 month survival rations which would be added assurance should something cause you and your family to go into survival mode.

Hopefully this will help you with your survival planning.

How to Build Solar Panels Plans - construction Solar Panel Plans - How to information

The cost of solar panels is very high so we decided to learn how to build solar panels plans of our own. In order to run our off grid home we would need about 3000 watts of output power and that would cost us in excess of ,000 to buy new. Now I don't know about you but that is a lot of money for this family.

Building our own seemed like a great selection for us. All we had to do was shape out where to find the parts we needed and how to put them together. We had figured out how to build a wind generator before this, which turned out great so we figured we could do this too.

What did we need?

· facilely ready and easy to ensue plans
· Easy to understand how to build solar panels plans
· straightforward tools and a place to work

After some deliberating and quite a bit of explore we discovered a set of plans that provided us with all of the data we needed. Most of it dealt with how to setup solar panels but there was a very good section on how to build our own too. There was even a section on where to find free solar panels when we got the 5 books together, in one called Renewable energy Solutions.

We got right to it beginning with a piece of plywood as a backer board on which to mount the private cells. We chose to work in our workshop because there is soldering that needs to be done and we like working in a well ventilated area. Keep that in mind when you start.

I'm kind of a safety aware person and all the time have been so we wear eye and hand safety when necessary too.

Wires are soldered to the back of the cells, one for distinct and one for negative. We found the cells at the source mentioned in the guide.

Just a dab of solder and the wires are fished straight through holes in the plywood to the back.

Align the cells in rows so it's easier to set up later. They are attached to the plywood with a bit of silicone caulking- not too much or you'll have a mess on your hands.

The distinct lead wires you soldered earlier are all joined together to one main wire. The same is done with the negative leads. Get these main wires out to the covering of the board and then sandwich the whole back with another thin piece of plywood.

A bit of a spacer colse to the covering edge makes a good frame and keeps the wires from being crunched.

We like to place a sheet of tempered glass over top of the solar cells as well. Using a bit of trim the glass can be held in place nicely with some screws and silicone. It looks real expert when you are done.

How much did we save?

All totaled up we can build a 100 watt solar panel for under 0 although prices tend to fluctuate, yours will too. That's about 30% of the cost of buying new ones.

Isn't it time you got Started now, let's get started.

Just think of all the money you will save buy doing this job yourself. That skyrocketing galvanic bill will be a thing of the past. This is not a difficult process to learn and we are distinct that anyone following the above instructions can do a perfectly fine job of it.
